A federal judge ruled that the EPA unlawfully rescinded $250 million allocated for solar energy initiatives across Texas. Harris County had $54 million in funding clawed back last August after the agency issued a termination letter to end the program. The court decision challenges the legality of the EPA's funding withdrawal.
Harris County was awarded $54 million for the solar program in 2024. That money was rescinded in August last year when the county received a termination letter from the EPA that claimed to end the initiative.
