The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission is implementing changes that will restrict access to data used to identify systemic workplace discrimination. This shift is expected to make it more difficult for investigators to secure the large-scale settlements that have historically benefited thousands of workers. Previously, this information served as a critical tool for federal attorneys to track and address widespread patterns of corporate bias.
It's a significant change since the data has allowed EEOC investigators and attorneys to identify the type of systemic discrimination that has resulted in some of the agency's largest settlements, benefiting thousands of workers.
