Hanging of Black woman found after drug dispute was ‘staged’ following death, Mississippi police say
Mississippi police report that the hanging of a Black woman was staged after she had already died following a drug dispute. Authorities have not yet disclosed the motive for the staging.
Authorities haven’t said why they believe the defendants hanged Fortune’s body after she was already dead.
