Schools don't have to tell parents about student gender identity — unless they ask, judge rules
A judge ruled that the Chino Valley Unified School District is not required to proactively notify parents when a student changes their gender identity or pronouns. While the court declined to reinstate a mandatory notification policy, the ruling specifies that schools must still disclose this information if parents specifically ask for it.
