An evacuation order was issued for Olowalu Village due to a brush fire. Temporary evacuation points are available at the Lahaina Civic Center and South Maui Community Park Gym.
(Update: 10:30 p.m. Sept. 26, 2026) As of 10:30 p.m., both lanes of Honoapiʻilani Highway between North Kīhei and Olowalu are open. Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling through this area as crews continue to work to battle a large brush fire.
