9th Avenue reopens after Convention Center’s paint job kept it closed for weeks
9th Avenue has reopened following an extended closure caused by a painting project at the Convention Center. The road remained shut for weeks beyond the permitted schedule because the paint used was difficult to remove. The project was initially intended to improve the street's appearance.
The paint the Convention Center used to make the street look pretty couldn't be removed, keeping the road closed for weeks longer than the SDOT street closure permit allowed.
