A 6.6 magnitude earthquake occurred near the Loyalty Islands, but the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center confirmed there is no tsunami threat to Hawaii.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center reports a magnitude 6.6-magnitude earthquake occurred at 11:13 a.m. Hawaiʻi time near the Loyalty Islands, located east of New Caledonia and Australia. An evacuation order has been issued for Olowalu Village from Luawai Street to Ehehene Street due to a brush fire that poses an immediate threat to life and property.
