This Philly fountain has a typo. Should anyone fix it?
A misspelling has been identified on the base of the historic Washington Monument fountain located in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The word "MISSISSIPPI" is carved as "MISSISIPPI" into the granite, an error that has likely existed since the monument was dedicated in 1897. Officials and historians are currently weighing whether to repair the century-old mistake or preserve it as a unique part of the landmark's history.
