Pennsylvania wildlife center welcomes pair of extremely rare albino cardinals, a ‘1 in 30,000’ chance
A wildlife center in Pennsylvania recently admitted two rare albino cardinals, a genetic occurrence estimated to have a one-in-30,000 chance for a single bird. Staff expressed astonishment at housing a pair of the birds simultaneously, noting the extreme statistical improbability of the event. The facility is currently providing care for both of the unique avian residents.
"Not only is it rare to see one albino cardinal, but we also admitted a second albino cardinal; we couldn't believe that now we had two!" the center wrote.
