Fed Rate Hike to Be One and Done, Says Citi’s Hollenhorst
Citi’s chief U.S. economist, Andrew Hollenhorst, predicts that any upcoming Federal Reserve interest rate hike will likely be the final increase of the current cycle. He argues that current economic data lacks the momentum necessary to justify a series of further hikes in the present environment.
“It’s hard to make a strong case for a rate hike in this environment,” says Andrew Hollenhorst, chief US economist at Citi. "I just don't see the momentum in the data for further hikes here," he adds. (Source: Bloomberg)
