Boston dumps Flock, says it shared data nationwide in violation of contract
The City of Boston has terminated its contract with surveillance firm Flock Safety after discovering the company violated data privacy terms. Officials stated that Flock enabled a "nationwide lookup" feature, allowing license plate data to be shared across the country in direct violation of a contractual requirement to keep the feature disabled.
