Letter: Charge doctors for time spent in waiting room

A reader suggests that patients should be able to charge doctors for time spent waiting in the office. This comes in response to medical practices charging patients for late cancellations.
When you make a doctor’s appointment, often times you will be notified that if you don’t call to cancel within 24 hours of the appointment, you will be charged for not notifying the practice. I think to myself, how many times have I gone to an appointment at 8:15 a.m. and they don’t check me in until 8:40 a.m. with a “thank you for your patience.”
