A new high-rise in Ann Arbor will be named The Adeline to honor a late Black business owner who created a sanctuary for the community.
“At a time when Ann Arbor could not, or would not, offer the Black community basic trust, unconditional love and respect, my grandparents created a sanctuary on Detroit Street,” Angela Davis said.
