Ecuador Seeks US Help Fighting $30-Billion Cocaine Trade
President Daniel Noboa is seeking increased assistance from the U.S. and Europe to combat Ecuador’s $30 billion annual cocaine trade. Approximately 1,200 tons of cocaine move through the country each year, with 80% destined for international markets. Noboa stated that Ecuador will remain in charge of all operations while targeting major traffickers.
