Beachwood housing project at former temple site put on hold
The city of Beachwood has put a housing project at the former Fairmount Temple site on hold due to an inability to reach a financing agreement with developers.
Beachwood Mayor Justin Berns told residents in an email on Sept. 23 that a financing structure could not be reached with potential developers of the former Fairmount Temple property -- bought by the city in 2024 for $8 million -- and that the project has been put on hold. The city, he said, still intends to carry through with plans to build housing at the Fairmount Boulevard site.
