New World screwworm infects first horse in Texas outbreak
The New World screwworm has been detected in a new species as the flesh-eating parasite continues to threaten livestock and wildlife in Texas. The first horse to be infected in the outbreak of screwworm cases was discovered last week in Presidio County, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
