Gavin Newsom vetoes bill giving California high-speed rail watchdog more power

Governor Gavin Newsom vetoed a bill that would have granted the inspector general of the California High-Speed Rail Authority additional oversight and hiring powers.
It would give the inspector general the purchase authority and job classifications he says he needs to hold the High-Speed Rail Authority accountable.
