Almost salmon season! ‘Weeding Warriors’ open path to Fauntleroy Creek for spawners
A group of 10 volunteers recently gathered at Cove Park to clear a thicket of invasive beach grass that was blocking access to Fauntleroy Creek. The effort aims to ensure that returning coho salmon have an unobstructed pathway to their spawning grounds ahead of the fall season. This habitat restoration work is part of an annual initiative to support the local salmon population's migration.
