Mayor Zohran Mamdani is set to receive a 'peacemaker award' from a New York non-profit, alongside a controversial Iranian-American lobbying group. The mayor will not attend the October 5 ceremony.
Mamdani was awarded the honor "as a former student organizer whose support of Palestinian rights resonates with many of the students of our Campus Organizing Program."
