Haleakalā National Park is closing its districts due to the approach of Tropical Storm Nolo. Camping and sunrise reservations have been cancelled until further notice.
Due to the approaching Tropical Storm Nolo, both districts of Haleakalā National Park will close this evening— Kīpahulu District at 4 p.m. and Summit District at 8 p.m. Sunrise reservations for Friday and Saturday, Sept. 25 and 26 have been cancelled. Front country and backcountry camping are cancelled for today, Sept. 24 through Saturday, Sept. 26. The park will reopen when it is safe to do so.
