New Mexico Forward Party asks US Supreme Court to intervene in ballot access lawsuit
The New Mexico Forward Party has petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court to place two of its statewide candidates on the November general election ballot. This appeal follows rulings from a federal district court and the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals that denied the minor party’s request for ballot access. Party leadership argues that existing state laws restrict voter choice and is seeking an emergency intervention to include their candidates.

The state's current ballot access laws leave "voters without real options on their ballots," party Chair Bob Perls said.
