Doctors say children of immigrants are missing healthcare
A survey of more than 1,600 physicians by the American Academy of Pediatrics found that 40% of pediatricians reported children in immigrant families are avoiding medical care. These healthcare gaps are primarily driven by concerns regarding immigration status, according to the surveyed doctors. The findings indicate that legal fears are creating significant barriers to routine healthcare for many children.
